Greetings:

Below please find a note from Sensei Llyod of Gentle Masters Way Judo @ Modern Samurai.

Great job Sensei Llyod, and Congratulations to all!

Lou D'Agostino

Hello Everyone, Last Saturday, June 28th 2008 we had our 1st Gentleway Masters Judo Club Shiai (tournament) at our Dojo (Modern Samurai Dojo). We had approximately 30 participants from 3 different judo clubs.  There were 8 divisions for the kids, men’s white belt division, and the main event was the men’s and women’s open division (open to all weight and rank).  It was amazing how all judokas put all their hearts out just to win the match, specially the little kiddos. It’s like watching little sumo wrestlers fight (hehe)… I’m proud and happy how they displayed not just strength and smart playing but also their judo skills and sportsmanship. I would also like to give a big round of applause to the parents for the support they give to these kids and for the awesome sportsmanship the displayed in the tournament. Also, it was nice to see children supporting their parents while struggling in a match. Thank you Sensei Lou, for allowing us to use the Dojo as a venue for the tournament. Thank you also for the 3 sensei’s (Cliff, Ike, Matt) for helping officiate the matches. And before I forget, thanks also to Rich, Andrew and Ethan for helping cleaning up. Without you guys, this tournament wouldn’t be a success. Domo Arigato!!!

Sensei Lloyd.
